There are many unique ways to approach this practice and we’d love to introduce you to a few! Whether you’re drawn to the idea of sound assisted meditation, a mindful walk in nature, a relaxing tea ceremony, or want to learn skills that you can immediately take into your day-to-day life, we have options for you! How It Works:

- Note your preferred meditation style in your reservation process.
- If a facilitator for your chosen meditation style is unavailable during your ideal time/date (this is rare), we will provide alternatives, including the option to cancel
- Meditation sessions are available In-Person in Asheville or Virtually if you prefer to meet online. Facilitators can meet your group at your vacation rental or home, in a cozy tea house, or in various outdoor locations such as a city park, the Botanical Gardens, or mountaintop summit (add $25/person, includes a 2 mile round trip hike)

“Sound has been produced and utilized in various ways, but all for the same purpose: to move us from a place of imbalance to a place of balance and alignment.” Sound can be a lovely tool to cultivate and support deep relaxation by bringing your attention to the present through music. Some musicians utilize a single instrument while others incorporate a variety. You might experience handpan, cello, vocals, singing bowls, didgeridoo, gongs, flutes, and more. Each experience is unique. While other styles of meditation encourage focus on breath, scent, visuals, etc to bring you into the present, a sound meditation offers yet another way to anchor yourself and your awareness.

Relax into a guided meditation as we flow through the preparation and drinking of tea together. With its roots in ancient China, tea ceremony has long been a way to connect with the natural world and create an expansive mindfulness. We will begin by slowing down into a sense of calm relaxation by connecting with our breath. As we mindfully drink the tea skillfully prepared by the guide, we will cultivate gratitude, compassion, and a connection to a larger innate wisdom.

“Instinctive” meditation means it’s natural and our bodies are wired to do it easily and efficiently. All we need to do is to set up the right conditions and our bodies will eagerly cooperate. In this introductory group session, you will learn some quick hitting skills, practice them, and get feedback. Then enjoy a longer guided meditation using those skills. You’ll be able to incorporate these tools in your daily life right away and will walk away with the skill set needed to meditate on your own even if you have a racing mind and little spare time.

What Should I Wear?
Wear any light, loose fitting clothing that you’re comfortable moving your body in. I recommend having a warm layer on hand in case you’d like to get cozy as you relax…especially if you are cold-natured.
What Should I Bring?
Yourself and an open mind! If your chosen style of meditation requires use of any equipment, your travel planner will be in touch prior to the experience to let you know what to bring. If we’re coming to you, all you need is a comfy space to relax in!
Where Can We Practice?
Meditation sessions can be held in a wide variety of locations:
- Stay In! We’ll come to you at your accommodations or home here in the Asheville area (note locations more than 10 miles from downtown include an additional travel fee)
- Meet Online! This is a great option for folks who wish to invite a bit of Asheville into their space and connect with loved ones no matter how far apart you may be
- Venture Out! We’ll meet you in the Salt Cave, at a local park, on a mountaintop, in the Botanical Gardens, in a cozy local studio, or beside the river. Our team can be creative…let us know what you’re interested in and let’s see if we can make it happen!
What Kinds of Groups Choose Meditation Sessions?
This is a great option for groups celebrating special occasions like birthdays, bachelorette parties, girls getaways, retirement, and family. A meditation session is also a unique experience for corporate groups interested in balancing hectic schedules and the potential isolation of remote work with an opportunity to unplug and refocus together.
Do I Need Prior Meditation Experience?
Nope! These meditation sessions are appropriate for all levels of experience and offer a great introduction to the practice plus a sweet opportunity to revisit a familiar practice or try something brand new. All of our instructors are accustomed to teaching to varied levels of experience and will be happy to offer suggestions prompts throughout the session.
Can I Bring My Kids?
Absolutely! Because all meditation sessions are private, you’re welcome to have the whole family join in.
What is the Cancellation Policy?
Full group cancellations more than 72 hrs prior to your scheduled experience are refundable minus a $5/person admin fee or you may choose a store credit for 100% of your purchase price. If individual members of your party need to cancel due to Covid, we will refund that group member in full provided minimums thresholds for group size are met. These minimums ensure all experience providers, guides, instructors, etc are paid a living wage for their work. Thank you for your understanding as we strive to be as flexible as possible.
Should I Tip My Guide?
Tips are never obligatory but are always appreciated. If you feel you had a wonderful experience, the average amount shared is $5-20/person.

The following points are specific to Meditation Sessions:
For the foreseeable future, all meditation sessions are set aside as private experiences. Simply pick your date and time and we’ll set it up just for you!
Our guides and facilitators are a friendly bunch but will refrain from hugging, hand shaking, or getting close unless necessary (injury, first aid, etc). Please also keep your distance from your facilitator.
Masks are required in indoor spaces. If you are holding your session indoors, please expect to wear a mask for the duration of your experience. Your facilitator will as well. While masks are not required in outdoor spaces where social distancing is possible, we recommend that you bring yours in case we run into an unexpected situation.
We’re committed to doing our part to care for our employees, community, and guests and we cannot do it alone. As part of our shared responsibility, we expect you to: communicate clearly with us regarding any health concerns you may have; if you feel ill, have Covid related symptoms, or have recently cared for someone with Covid-19, please stay home and alert us 24hrs or more in advance when possible (we will issue you a refund in full); be patient with, understanding, and supportive of new procedures in place. These policies are meant to keep all involved as safe as possible and to support our business in remaining open!

The practice of forest bathing encourages you to slow down, relax and reconnect with nature by quieting the mind and awakening the senses. Through a series of invitations, you will have an opportunity to focus on being present in the moment and enjoying the many gifts nature has to offer. The walk culminates in a tea ceremony with snacks. This is essentially a mindful, rejuvenating walk in the forest…no actual “bathing” required 😉
